My Grandparents lived about 10 miles from us and every Saturday we would go, as a family, to spend the day with them. The smell of baking when their door was opened is a great memory as well as the taste of my Nana’s soda bread with lashings of local creamy butter.
Buttermilk, baking soda, Irish butter and flour aromas combine to make this enchanting fragrance. Almost good enough to eat (but don’t – it’s a candle!)
